Il s&rsquo;agit des <strong>fruits en massepain<\/strong>, en italien <strong>Frutti della Martorana<\/strong>. Alors, qu&rsquo;est-ce qui vous vient \u00e0 l&rsquo;esprit en tant que sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9 allemande \u00e0 base de massepain ? \u2013 Exactement. Les pommes de terre en massepain. Pommes de terre ! Pas tr\u00e8s all\u00e9chant. En Italie, par contre, et plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment en Sicile, le massepain se d\u00e9cline sous toutes les formes et couleurs imaginables : pommes, oranges, melons, concombres (oui, ce n&rsquo;est pas un fruit), poires\u2026 \u00c7A, c&rsquo;est ce que j&rsquo;appelle de l&rsquo;art p\u00e2tissier !<\/p>\n<h2>L&rsquo;origine des fruits en massepain<\/h2>\n<p>L&rsquo;origine des <strong>fruits en massepain siciliens<\/strong> remonte au couvent La Martorana \u00e0 Palerme, qui a \u00e9galement donn\u00e9 son nom \u00e0 cette sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9 sicilienne. Ce couvent a \u00e9t\u00e9 fond\u00e9 \u00e0 la fin du XIIe si\u00e8cle par Eloisia Martorana. La fabrication du massepain \u00e9tait connue depuis l&rsquo;\u00e9poque de la domination arabe sur la Sicile, et les s\u0153urs Martorana avaient d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 un savoir-faire particulier dans ce domaine. La l\u00e9gende raconte qu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;occasion d&rsquo;une visite du pape Cl\u00e9ment V, des arbres au r\u00e9alisme saisissant, portant des pommes, des figues et des raisins, furent \u00e9rig\u00e9s. Les amandiers, orangers et citronniers sont embl\u00e9matiques du paysage sicilien, donc il n&rsquo;y a pas de p\u00e9nurie \u00e0 cet \u00e9gard.
